Imagine this situation: “The Hangover” is on tonight. Should you watch it? It may be fun, but is it your kind of fun?

DigitalPal is a social networking website aimed to connect people around films, music, books, and video games. It’s been in development for the last 12 months with the mission to bring the idea of social network to people who like to talk about specific subjects without having their review of last night’s movie getting lost between friends' party photos or political ranting. DigitalPal allows users to share their experiences and recommend movies, music, books, and games to one another, while offering various fun tools for getting informed about things they are actually going to like.
Tatiana Utornik, DigitalPal project manager, explained the main role of the network: “Imagine this situation: “The Hangover” is on tonight. Should you watch it? It may be fun, but is it your kind of fun? Should you risk wasting your time - again? If only you could quickly find out what your friends thought about it. This is where DigitalPal steps in. It allows you to immediately see what your friends had to say about movies you want to see - but also music you want to hear, books you want to read, and games you want to play. All in one place – at http://www.digitalpal.com.”
There are many social networking sites focusing on music, or films, or video games. But DigitalPal’s approach is different. First of all, it gathers several entertainment components in one place and allows people to talk about what they like (and don’t like) with their friends. Further, with DigitalPal, users have a unique opportunity to receive recommendations both from their friends and based on their own ratings. Users can review every movie, track, book, or video game, and recommend them to friends with one click. All these activities are visible in real time – and can be immediately commented on and discussed between pals. Users can create their own database and storage of rated movies, songs, books, and games. Having them all in one place makes it easy to recommend them to friends. Users can also organize their future experiences, explore new things, and much more.
DigitalPal is currently in beta version and open for testing.
