MorganFranklin Corporation, a business and technology consulting firm that delivers financial management, performance improvement, and national security solutions to industry and government clients, today announced the appointment of Gene Riechers to the company’s corporate advisory board.
Riechers is recognized as one of the top value-added investors and board members in the mid-Atlantic region. He brings more than 25 years of experience in senior leadership roles at venture capital firms and technology companies in the region, and was named to the first annual AlwaysOn "Venture Capital 100" list in 2009.

Riechers previously served as a general partner at Valhalla Partners, one of the leading venture capital firms in the mid-Atlantic region. Prior to co-founding Valhalla Partners in 2002, Riechers was co-founder and managing director of FBR Technology Venture Partners (FBRTVP). The FBRTVP funds produced seven initial public offerings (IPOs), including webMethods, the most successful software IPO in history.
Previously, Riechers spent 16 years in a variety of senior operating roles at technology companies. He joined four early-stage ventures, all of which ultimately went public.
Riechers serves as director of the Mid-Atlantic Venture Association and is co-founder of the MindShare program, the leading organization for technology entrepreneurs in the greater Washington area. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from the Loyola College Executive Program. Riechers has served as guest lecturer at the Harvard Business School, University of Chicago, and Georgetown University. He also coaches youth sports and is a member of the Tewaaraton Awards Advisory Council.
