The Healing Point Clinic in Livonia Applies for Joint Commission Accreditation as a Drug Addiction Treatment Facility

On January 16, 2012 the Healing Point Clinic, an outpatient drug addiction treatment facility applied for Joint Commission accreditation and a survey is scheduled for May of 2012. Tom Cahillane, Public Relations Liaison for Healing Point commented that preparing for a Joint Commission survey could be a challenging process for any healthcare organization. It involves a three-day on-site survey where the Joint Commission reviews practices and procedures regarding behavioral healthcare, substance abuse treatment, and addiction medicine policies. At a minimum, a substance abuse clinic must be completely familiar with the current standards, examine current processes, policies and procedures relative to the standards and prepare to improve any areas that are not currently in compliance. The Healing Point Clinic must be in compliance with the standards for at least four months prior to the initial survey. Healing Point should also be in compliance with applicable standards during the entire period of accreditation.

Healing Point Clinic headquartered at 20331 Farmington Road in Livonia requested the Joint Commission accreditation survey in December of 2011. Cahillane said that drug addiction treatment and substance abuse counseling are serious business at the Healing Point Clinic. We're committed to providing drug and alcohol addiction medicine and substance abuse counseling, with a higher level of care and attention. We have compassionate and understanding doctors, substance abuse counselors, and our staff takes pride in paying close attention to each patient's needs concerning addiction treatment and or counseling. Cahillane explained: we want our patients to understand we will go to any length to offer the best possible drug addiction treatment, and we're willing to complete a Joint Commission Survey inspection to prove it.
