ECS Refining's ecollective electronic waste pickup services will be provided for the event, as well as continued throughout the month of February for local businesses

Every year billions of tons of e-waste is thrown away in the US. E-waste contains heavy metals that can filter into the environment causing water contamination and air pollution.

Corona based Monster Beverage Company is hosting an electronic waste collection event supported by ECS Refining’s ecollective™ program on Saturday, January 14, 2012, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Consumers and businesses are invited to come to the Monster Energy Warehouse located at 1990 Pomona Road in Corona to drop off electronics and enjoy a Monster power drink at the same time. E-waste donations will be recycled, and the money raised will be used to help grant wishes for children in Orange, San Bernardino and Riverside counties.

The event is conveniently scheduled after the holiday season—when many old electronics have been replaced with newer technology. Additionally, ECS Refining will support local businesses’ e-waste recycling needs through February of 2012 and will be on-call to pick up electronics at locations throughout Orange County and the Inland Empire. Donations will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Local businesses will receive continued electronics recycling support throughout the month of February by ECS Refining and its ecollective program. ECS Refining, the domestic and ethical e-recycling leader, will be on call to pick up electronics at Orange County and Inland Empire business locations and donate proceeds to Make-A-Wish. Certificates of destruction are available to ensure business or personal data is completely destroyed.

“Every year billions of tons of e-waste is thrown away in the United States. E-waste contains heavy metals such as lead and mercury that can filter into the environment causing water contamination and air pollution,” said Marci Rodgers, Director of Marketing at ECS Refining. “Responsibly recycling e-waste is good for the environment and for the economy.”

ECS Refining, an e-Stewards Certified® company, is an ethical industry leader which ensures that e-waste is 100 percent recycled or reused and never shipped outside the U.S. Additionally, businesses and individuals can be assured that all electronic data is completely destroyed by ECS and will subsequently receive certificates of destruction.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Orange County and the Inland Empire relies on the support of companies like ECS Refining and Monster Beverage Company to help in its mission of granting wishes.

Monster Energy started its own philanthropy efforts earlier this year with the Monster Energy Gives Back Program, designed to give back to the community and support organizations like the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Monster Energy first partnered Make-A-Wish in September when the company adopted the wish of 14-year-old Christopher, who wished to have a shopping spree.

About Make-A-Wish

The Make-A-Wish Foundation granted 300 local wishes last year, and with the help and generous spirit of the community, will grant 325 more next year. The e-waste collection event is an easy and great way to get involved and give back to children living right here in Orange County and the Inland Empire.
