A new report from Digital Marketer for January shows member marketers the top techniques for increasing conversions on a web property, as well as actual case studies with specific data.
Ryan Deiss of Digital Marketer says that this kind of inside information is what DM member's can expect.

The report is called “ How to Double Your Subscribers Without Doubling Your Traffic “ and is written by Mr. Deiss, who in addition to being part of the core experts at Digital Marketer has also sold more than 30,000,000 dollars of products online. He says that increasing traffic is not the answer, since the traffic a marketer already has can usually get more optins and sales through specific conversion techniques that are shared in the report.

Mr. Deiss says, “Focus your energy on maximizing conversion rates with the traffic that’s already visiting your site. As you can see, the opt-in light box actually INCREASED user engagement on his site. Diving a level deeper into his splash-squeeze experiment, Rowse closely monitored his site’s numbers to make sure his new pop-up wasn’t hurting traffic. If anything, his traffic stayed flat or went up very slightly. It didn’t drop off.”

“People like to click on pictures,” Mr. Deiss says in another part of the report on using pictures to gain increased conversions. “So why not make something happen when they click? By designing a warning pop-up that appears when visitors click on your images, you can remind them to opt-in to your list. These javascript warnings are pretty easy for almost any level of programmer to set up (or just steal mine below).” The report then gives that script to the reader as well as simple instructions on how to use it.

Mr. Deiss says that marketers can even be funny and say something like “Whoa, easy there trigger. Enter your email address for instant access.” He says that they came up with the tactic after using a service called ClickTale, “which monitors your website to find out exactly what your visitors are clicking on.”

Mr. Deiss shares many case studies to support the recommendations, aimed at marketers as part of the Digital Marketer portal's resources in the member's area. Mr. Deiss's section of the report concludes with a section on lead magnets which he says are one of the most powerful ways to convert traffic, and he explains it in detail so it can be understood by the reader.
