As a Christian, most think there are certain key pieces of information they should just know. Every day individuals are saturated with information from the world around them and most choose to believe the information that makes them feel good, but they never search out the truth. Dr. Gary Yarbrough’s new book, What Every Christian Really Should Know, but They Don’t ($10.99, paperback, 978-1-61904-721-1; $17.99, hardcover, 978-1-61904-722-8; $5.49, eBook, 978-1-61904-723-5), covers the basic truths found in the word of God. Dr. Yarbrough delivers knowledge and truth about the word of God, the church and non-profit organizations; as well as certain facts about their responsibilities to the IRS. This book will serve to remind those of the simple truths as well as uncover those same truths for the first time for other individuals.
“I believe many people are confused or just don’t know the truth of God’s word because they find it difficult to understand in spite of all the various translations. With all of the prosperity gospel messages saturating society and the fact that people are told numerous things that sound good and make them feel good, I believe they cannot tell you what they were told or what they heard,” states the author. “I want them to read for themselves the simple truth of God’s word. This book is simple, plain and very easy to understand.”
Dr. Gary Yarbrough holds a Bachelor of Science in Community Ministry, a Masters in Business Administration and a Doctor of Ministry Degree. He started his career in the Ministry at Payne Theological Seminary’s Satellite program and since then has served in various churches from 1989 to 2005. He currently volunteers at the Harmarville Rehabilitation Center of Pittsburgh where he holds Sunday morning worship services for its residents and staff on a weekly basis. Dr. Yarbrough has published four other books for churches and non-profit organizations on how to conduct, hold and record meeting minutes.
