The IAB and Sage are two of the best known names in bookkeeping and this course is the only route for gaining level 1 and 2 qualifications that are recognised under the Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF)
(PRWEB UK) 17 January 2012
A new distance learning course launched this month by Home Learning College allows budding bookkeepers to master foundational skills while learning to use Sage 50 accounts – the software of choice for over 800,000 small and medium UK businesses. Successful completion of Computerised Accounting for Business leads to Ofqual accredited level 1 and 2 qualifications from the International Association of Book-keepers (IAB) and Sage UK.
Sage 50 Accounts is designed to help businesses manage their accounts by providing valuable information on customers, suppliers, products and areas of profitability. Along with comprehensive software training, Computerised Accounting for Business students will cover the principles of recording and processing financial transactions, basic costing, VAT, banking procedures and basic business legislation.
Home Learning College’s Computerised Accounting for Business course comes with two years’ unlimited tutorial support, which can be accessed online or over the phone. Exam fees and one year’s membership of the IAB are included, along with 24 hour access to the college’s online learning platform. No prior knowledge or experience is required, but prospective students should have basic numeracy, information technology and literacy skills.
Upon passing the final exams, students will be eligible for IAB Associate member status, giving access to a range of benefits including:
- A dedicated business support helpline
- Continuing Professional Development and networking opportunities
- Use of the title ‘Registered Book Keeper’ by IAB Fellows
- Preferential Rates for Professional Indemnity insurance
- Opportunity to register as a Practicing Member, be listed on the IAB website and be monitored to meet the requirements of UK money laundering regulations 2007
- Access to technical advice provided by other experienced members
- Access to useful information held in members only area of the IAB website
- Monthly e-newsletter of news relevant to small businesses
- Technical advice covering Tax, VAT, PAYE, Payroll, Employment & Personnel, Health and Safety and Commercial law
“The IAB and Sage are two of the best known names in bookkeeping and this course is the only route for gaining level 1 and 2 qualifications that are recognised under the Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF),” says Dave Snow, Academic Director at Home Learning College. “As such, gaining the Certificate for Computerised Accounting for Business is an ideal way to develop a career in bookkeeping, whether within an organisation or as a self-employed finance professional.”
