Chevy offering special edition Corvette models for anniversary

Car dealership Illinois, Chevy cars, Chicago area Chevy dealer

Chevrolet fans nationwide will be celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Corvette in 2013. Among those doing the celebrating will be the professionals at Chevrolet of Naperville, the premier Chevy dealership in Naperville, IL.

For the special occasion, Chevrolet will be releasing a Corvette 427 Convertible Collector Edition, which the company is billing as the fastest, most capable Corvette in history. In addition, Chevy will also be offering an available 60th Anniversary Package for every 2013 Corvette model. The Corvette’s adorned with the anniversary package will feature a Blue Diamond leather-wrapped interior with suede accents. They will also get a ZR1-style spoiler, special badging and 60th-anniversary logos throughout, in addition to other features.

As for the powerful Corvette 427 Convertible Collector Edition, it will offer 505 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. These numbers make it the most powerful engine ever offered in a production Corvette convertible. The engine will be mated exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission.

“The 2013 model year will be historic for Corvette, marking its 60th Anniversary and the final year for the current ‘C6’ generation,” said Chris Perry, vice president of global marketing and strategy for Chevrolet. “We couldn’t think of a more fitting way to celebrate these milestones than bringing back one of the most coveted combinations in the brand’s history – the Corvette convertible and a 427 cubic-inch engine.”

While the 60th Anniversary Edition Corvette and the 427 Convertible Collector Edition are not yet available, Chevrolet of Naperville does have the 2012 Chevy Corvette in Naperville, IL now, as well as a full lineup of new cars in Naperville. The dealership can be contacted at 877-450-1080.
