Board-Certified Vascular Surgeons, Dr. Gregory Barber and Dr. Fredrick Southern Celebrate Atlantic Vein & Vascular Associates One Year Anniversary Serving the Greater Virginia Beach Community.

Dr. Barber and I are motivated by the success we’ve shared here at AVVA to continue to offer the most advanced and comprehensive vein and vascular care possible in a relaxed, peaceful setting. We treat our patients like our family here at AVVA.

Dr. Barber and Dr. Southern will celebrate the one year anniversary of Atlantic Vein & Vascular Associates in Virginia Beach on January 25. AVVA offers a multitude of vein and vascular treatments for spider veins and other vascular concerns. Their state-of-the-art facility offers the latest in laser therapy technology for clinical and cosmetic concerns.

Dr. Barber states, “I am very passionate about helping people. I feel grateful to have served my country and had the opportunity to offer medical assistance to my fellow Americans at home and overseas. Opening Atlantic Vein & Vascular Associates was the culmination of years of hard work and dedication. Dr. Southern and I are extremely grateful to the Virginia Beach community which has enabled us to reach this one-year anniversary.”

Dr. Barber and Dr. Southern are both accomplished physicians and board certified vascular surgeons possessing decades of experience. Atlantic Vein & Vascular Associates offers a full spectrum of vascular and vein-care services, from critical to cosmetic, in a caring and nurturing environment. Dr. Southern explains, “We live and work here, we’re part of the community. The patients and our fellow physicians have been so supportive. This has been an extremely rewarding first year. We intend to continue serving our community for many years.”

To commemorate this One Year Anniversary AVVA will host a complimentary seminar, “Celebrate a Happy & Healthy New You” to mark the anniversary. Dr. Southern explains, “Dr. Barber and I are looking forward to hosting this special, complimentary seminar. We look forward to seeing old and new faces at the seminar and as usual, we look forward to answering questions and proving guidance.”

The complimentary seminar, “Celebrate a Happy & Healthy New You” will be held on Wednesday, January 25 at 6 pm. Attendees will enjoy benefit from expert tips and information on the latest types of vein treatments, laser skin rejuvenation and skin tightening. Guests will also enjoy appetizers and refreshments, raffles, freebies and special event night only discounts.

About Atlantic Vein and Vascular Associates
Doctors Southern and Barber founded Atlantic Vein and Vascular Associates, which opened in January of 2011. Fredrick N. Southern, M.D. attended Saint Vincent College, Latrobe, PA, where he graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology. He went on to medical school, was selected for an Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarship and graduated as a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Kansas in 1987. He was board certified by the American Board of Vascular Surgery in 2000 and again in 2008 while in the Navy. Dr. Southern retired from the Navy as a Captain with 23 years of service June 30, 2010. Dr. Barber served four years in the US Navy as a Hospital Corpsman before attending Niagara University, in Niagara Falls, New York, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science. After college he transferred to the US Navy Medical Corps and attended the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland, where in 1987 he graduated as a Doctor of Medicine with the rank of Lieutenant. From 2001 until he retired from the Navy in June 2003, Commander Barber, MC, USN, served as a vascular surgeon at Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth.
