Does everyone know about soul music? Every generation believes that their music is superior, especially for the baby boomers. From Credence Clearwater to Charlie Wilson, the unique and dynamic artists of that era have stood the test of time. With this fact, a new test book that actually reads like the history of soul and R&B was written by Anthony C. Davis in The BBSAT’s –Baby Boomers Soul Aptitude Test.
This book offers readers a challenging and fun collection of trivia questions and quizzes, guaranteed to knock even the cockiest R&B expert down a few pegs. From the fabulous falsettos of the 60s through the funk-fortified 70s, this book has it all. From James Brown, The Temptations, Jimi Hendrix, The O’Jays, The Isley Brothers, Earth, Wind & Fire, Santana, and Parliament Funkadelic, to “I’m Still Here” by The Notations, “Day by Day (Every Minute of the Hour)” by The Continental Four, “Love Jones” by Brighter Side of Darkness, or “Sunshine” by Enchantment, everyone could feel like being transported to basement parties, fraternity and sorority events, get-togethers, block parties, cabarets and Stone Soul Picnics.
This activity book has a main test of 250 questions that bring back baby boomers’ memories of soul. Then there are over twenty smaller, one-paged quizzes, that are broken into categories like; male / female duets, songs about destinations, songs about dances, songs about the rain, songs about the sun, songs with the word shake in the title, songs about mothers, songs about fathers, and more.
This book will have readers and their friends reminiscing and singing along with it just like the old days. Likewise, it is not only informative, educational and very well researched; it also provides readers with a sense of history about soul and R&B.
