NanaWall Systems Introduces Dynamic Glass in Folding Doors

In 2012, all NanaWall folding glass wall systems will be available with Dynamic Glass. Dynamic glass, or auto-tinting “smart glass,” changes tints on demand to reduce glare, heat loss and heat gain. The NanaWall with Dynamic Glass helps architects and building owners to reduce a building’s operating and energy costs.

“We are excited to offer dynamic glass to reduce energy consumption and control glare in buildings while preserving the unobstructed views the NanaWall provides,” said Ebrahim Nana, president of NanaWall Systems.

Mill Valley, California (PRWEB) January 17, 2012

[NanaWall Systems, the leader in opening glass wall technology, introduces the first folding door system in the U.S. to feature dynamic glass.

Dynamic glass provides unprecedented control over how much light enters a building by changing tints from clear to dark on demand with the flip of a switch. The NanaWall with Dynamic Glass controls glare so there is no need to invest in blinds or other window treatments.

“Architects have been asking us for years to research and develop new ways to reduce a building’s operating and energy costs,” said Ebrahim Nana, president of NanaWall Systems. “We are excited to offer dynamic glass to reduce energy consumption and control glare in buildings while preserving the unobstructed views the NanaWall provides.”

In commercial buildings, the NanaWall with Dynamic Glass is especially suited for statement buildings such as performing arts centers, art galleries and museums. In residential applications, the NanaWall with Dynamic Glass solves the challenge of how to provide traditional shading for large openings.

The power for the dynamic glass comes from safe low-voltage wire pulls in the sub-floor like those used in lighting control and alarm systems. NanaWall Systems’ research & development team figured out how to use spring-loaded connection points to transfer the low voltage from panel to panel over a long span. They had previously done numerous engineering projects for NanaWalls in homes and businesses with alarm systems.

Beginning in 2012, dynamic glass will be available in all NanaWall folding systems.

About NanaWall Systems
For over 25 years, NanaWall Systems has provided operable glass wall systems for large architectural openings. The NanaWall is a custom-made operable glass panel system that opens wide to blur the line between indoors and outdoors. Easily opened, the panels stack or stow away, opening the room to the outside. When closed, the panels provide a weather-resistant barrier protecting against wind, rain, snow, and cold temperatures. NanaWalls are used in single-family homes, multi-family buildings, offices, retail storefronts, restaurants, hotels, schools, sports stadiums, hospitals and wineries.

Unrivaled in the industry, the NanaWall meets or exceeds industry standards for air infiltration, water penetration, structural performance, forced entry, and extreme weather protection (the NanaWall SL73 aluminum folding system is Hurricane Certified by Miami/Dade County). Architects and design professionals rely on NanaWall’s experience, choice of options, superior engineering, and unsurpassed durability to fulfill their distinctive architectural designs.

NanaWall Systems is headquartered in Mill Valley, Calif. with showroom locations across North America. NanaWall is the exclusive North American partner of Solarlux Germany, the world leader in operable glass wall technology.
