The Oxford Princeton Programme, the world’s leading provider of commercial education and training to the energy and derivatives industry, has offered the energy industry’s only Certificate in Energy Derivatives, Hedging and Risk Management for four years running.

Since the certificate’s introduction in 2009, several professionals have completed or are in the process of completing requirements which in turn will represent their achievement in the subject area.

“More businesses engaged in energy derivatives view the certificate as a reliable indicator of recipients having built a solid foundational knowledge and skill base upon which to carry out activities on behalf of their employers,” says Jobert E. Abueva, Vice-President, Global Sales and Marketing, The Oxford Princeton Programme. “Feedback for the certificate’s coursework has been stellar and we invite more candidates to consider it as part of their training and development.”

This certificate is ideal for, though not limited to market risk managers, energy traders, trading managers, end-users of derivatives in corporations, credit risk analysts, risk consultants, risk and audit committee members, CFOs and treasury managers, finance department personnel, compliance managers, middle and back office personnel, treasurers and treasury analysts, and chief risk officers.

Certificate candidates are required to complete three two-day courses in this order:

Candidates have up to three years to complete all three courses as well as accompanying exams (each to be completed within three months of completing a course). It is possible to place out of the first course based on testing and statement of trading experience.

The programme includes a brief paper to be completed at the end of the final course which will enable candidates to apply concepts presented in an area that would benefit them in their day-to-day activities at work (final topics to be chosen in consultation with the Certificate and Course Director). Certificates are awarded upon successful completion of all requirements.
