The average cost-per-click is up by 10% in the United States
Chelmsford, Essex (PRWEB UK) 19 January 2012
TBGDigital has been monitoring the costs of advertising on social network Facebook and has published a report this week that indicates the average cost-per-click for users of the site is increasing.
The study indicates that although click-through rates are on the rise (they increased by 18% between the first and fourth quarters of 2011), the average cost-per-click is up by 10% in the United States. Interestingly for many UK-based businesses, the report found that the average CPC actually decreased by 11% in this region.
Evaldas Balcius, Head of Paid Search at SEO Positive, a renowned Pay Per Click agency based in Chelmsford, has interpreted the figures as “alarming but not currently concerning”.
“Facebook’s advertising platform is quite volatile as it is relatively new to businesses and brands," Evaldas explains.
"The statistics in the report shouldn’t be taken at face value – if you believe that Facebook PPC advertising is or could be working for you, it’s another marketing channel that should be explored.”
The news comes as SEO Positive announces the launch of its Facebook Advertising packages for businesses seeking to market their products or services with the platform. As Evaldas and his team discover that competing for ad space within the network is becoming increasingly difficult, they are encouraging business marketers to enquire about how they can manage their Facebook PPC accounts more cost-effectively with the help and support of the company.
