Foster.ly announced today, that in addition to launching its overhauled presence at this evening’s event at Eden, it will also present the formation of its Board of Advisers and initial members.
“Foster.ly was designed to facilitate entrepreneurship in DC, Maryland and Virginia and help people in the community efficiently locate relevant information and connect with others in the entrepreneurship community,” said Foster.ly founder, Adam Zuckerman. “Part of accomplishing that mission is assembling a Board of Advisers who are making this community thrive from an entrepreneurial perspective. We are honored to announce our initial Board members and are appreciative for their guidance and commitment to the region’s startup community.”

Tonight, after several iterations, many conversations, and the tireless help of more than forty passionate community members (recognition on the relaunched website and blog), the Foster.ly team launches the next iteration of the popular website at 9:01pm. A portion of proceeds from the launch event will go to CodeNow DC, a local organization that teaches underrepresented youth to program.
Microsoft BizSpark, Verizon, Executive Office of the Mayor Vincent C. Gray, Greater Baltimore Technology Council and FounderCorps are among the several organizations supporting tonight’s event and Foster.ly as it continues to grow and serve the region’s entrepreneurs.
Following tonight’s soft launch, Foster.ly will activate several new features in the upcoming weeks including a directory that will enable community members to search and identify the best resources in our community: people, businesses, groups and events; news driven by the community and comprised of articles, press releases, blog posts and more; an events calendar that allows for easy sorting and searching of events of interest; and a blog that will allow members and/or subject matter experts to create content and post. In addition Study Hall DC, the collaborative co-working environment focused on enhancing community between its entrepreneurial members is, folding under the Foster.ly umbrella.
Tonight’s event will be held at Eden, 1716 I St NW, Washington, DC 20006 from 6:00-9:00pm.
