Area residents have been bracing for the impending snow storm that hit the area right on schedule. Starting with a light snow last Saturday and continuing into a full on state of emergency, the weeklong winter storm left many with out power as downed trees ravaged many power lines across the area.
WineRackStore, located in the heart of Washington’s capital was no exception to the repercussions of the heavy snow and ice fall. While employee safety was the main concern for owners Michael and Denise Kitson, they were thankfully able to carry on business as usual with minimal hiccups.
“Our customer base reaches far beyond the lines of Washington state, so even though something may be happening in our immediate area, there is no reason that all of our customers have to suffer.” Said Michael Kitson. Despite flickering electricity, Kitson continued to man the phone lines to assist customers from other regions with there wine rack and custom wine cellar orders.
While some employees were stuck at home due to the snowy conditions, the Kitson’s worked together to keep things running as smoothly as possible.
“The best thing you can do when the weather get rough is to of course be safe, but also just try and continue to do things per usual so you don't drive yourself crazy,” said Kitson.
