Author Lynn Human had a prayer. “A prayer to help me find a way for my daughters to spend time with God each day and still accomplish being a wife, mother, full-time employee, homemaker, etc.,” she explains. “They just didn’t have time to focus on the most important part of their lives.” It was out of that prayer that Human’s bible study, Come Away: A Forty-Day Journey (published by WestBow Press), was born.
Come Away takes readers on a 40-day journey with God, requiring only a few minutes of their time each day. It is Human’s hope that readers will learn to “love the unlovable, forgive the unforgiveable, and learn more about God’s nature.”
This bible study is sure to help readers strengthen their faith and knowledge about God and the Lord Jesus Christ. “If there was only one word for Come Away it would be love,” explains Human. “Love for God, love for others and love for yourself.”
Excerpt from “Day 17” of Come Away:
“God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things,” Psalms 145:3 “Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.” There is nothing, or no one, greater than God—not even your own heart. God knows all things. Hebrews 4:13 “Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and open unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.” 1 John 3:20 is a remarkable verse. We have a great God who knows, understands, perceives all things and if we ask Him to forgive us, He will. So don’t live in guilt. Live in His love.
“Learning to love is where real joy, happiness and peace begins.”
