In the same vein as popular contemporary urban supernatural fiction such as CW’s Supernatural and Stephanie Meyers’ Twilight series comes author K.Y. Fong’s fresh new take on a saturated genre, Wicce (published by iUniverse). On first look, the reader is already baffled; about the title that is.
“Everyone has trouble pronouncing the book’s name.” says Fong.
Wicce, pronounced “witch-eh”, is an Old English word for witch, so enough said Wicce is a story about witches and wizards.
“People in my story don’t have wands like they do in Harry Potter,” explains Fong, “The main characters are very much like any one of us. They are real, down-to-earth people. Like us, they had to go through numerous hardships in order to discover who they really are and what they really want in life.”
Fong’s story is quite unlike many other magical fantasies, providing readers with a unique take on religion, science and the supernatural. Wicce makes some bold assumptions on various supernatural phenomena as Fong supports each with research and facts, making readers question whether the supernatural is really just myths after all.
If you think Wicce is just about enchantments, you are wrong. On the contrary, it will take you for a ride on an inspiring journey.
“Every one of us is looking for something to make us special, but most of the time we are blinded to the blessings we already have,” says Fong. “The Wicce series is not just about what people want in life rather it’s about how these desires affect our world.”
