Modern technologies are a major force driving the creation of today’s news content.
Miami, Florida (PRWEB) January 23, 2012
Red Banyan Group Founder Evan Nierman recently delivered a speech on “The Media Revolution” to a 100-person crowd at the Tamarac Theatre of Performing Arts. The talk focused upon the ways that the media has evolved, the state of journalism today and in the future, how companies are using social media and other technology to interact with the press, and how crisis PR can help organizations communicate more effectively during challenging times.
The Theatre is a non-profit organization committed to cultural development in South Florida by offering lecture series, musicals, dramas, comedies and children’s programs. Nierman said that the opportunity to address a local audience to discuss strategic communications was part of Red Banyan Group’s ongoing commitment to give back to the local community. In addition to contributing to a variety of charitable causes, the top South Florida PR firm also maintains a thriving pro bono practice.
“The audience was highly engaged and asked some outstanding questions,” said Nierman. “I tried to explain why the news has changed so fundamentally over the past decades, and enjoyed the back-and-forth discussion. I also strongly encouraged the group to take small steps to embrace modern technologies, since they are a major force driving the creation of today’s news content.”
