Multi-carrier connectivity provides our data center customers with more robust options and plays a crucial role in the redundancy of our offerings.

FIBERTOWN, a provider of Houston colocation data centers and disaster recovery office space, announced the addition of new telecom carriers into its 50,000 sq.ft. North Houston data center. The carrier-neutral colocation facility offers a diverse portfolio of connectivity options through connection to nine of the world’s largest Tier I Internet backbones.

“Multi-carrier connectivity provides our data center customers with more robust options and plays a crucial role in the redundancy of our offerings,” said Brandon Perryman, senior vice president at FIBERTOWN. “Customers are empowered to select a carrier that best fits their business requirements.”

The Houston data center is located along the main fiber route from Dallas to Houston, which provides close proximity and easy access to the fastest telecommunications networks. FIBERTOWN HOUSTON also features diverse fiber entrance points in and around the building, designed to support a fully redundant and secure multi-homed network.

“Each customer’s bandwidth needs are specific, and FIBERTOWN customers demand the highest levels of availability and performance,” said Perryman.

The Houston data center houses primary and secondary Point of Presence (PoP) rooms, delivering diverse pipelines of redundant connectivity to customer equipment. This ensures every customer is always protected and business never goes down.

FIBERTOWN also provides point-to-point services via a dedicated pathway between its Houston data center and Tier IV-designed data center in Bryan/College Station. Both facilities are concurrently maintainable and offer a 100% uptime SLA.

Today, the data centers provide connectivity via the following carriers – AboveNet, Level 3, Phonoscope, Sprint, Suddenlink, Century Link (Qwest), TW Telecom, Verizon and Windstream (formerly PAETEC).
