Incenergy’s EMS Will Reduce Energy Waste and Allow School to Dedicate More Finances Toward Education

Incenergy LLC has installed their Building Portfolio Energy Management System (EMS) in Austin-area St. Gabriel’s Catholic School. St. Gabriel’s received a $20,000 energy conservation grant for the Incenergy system from Duke Energy of Charlotte, NC.

St. Gabriel’s requested Incenergy’s assistance in applying for the grant. Incenergy CEO Barry McConachie said, “We were happy to work with a school in our own community, discounting the cost of installation so that St. Gabriel’s could meet the terms of this specific grant.”

The savings achieved by this EMS will allow St. Gabriel’s to apply more of its resources toward educating their students. “On so many levels, the Duke Energy Foundation grant will enable St. Gabriel’s to achieve valuable energy savings, be responsive to the needs of our community and the environment, reduce maintenance costs, and eliminate wasted staff time adjusting thermostats,” said Steve Balak, head of St. Gabriel’s Catholic School.

The grant that St. Gabriel’s received was one of two $20,000 grants that Duke Energy gave to schools in the Austin area. “Since all of the power generated at Duke Energy’s latest large-scale Texas wind farm will go to serve Austin Energy customers, we thought the time was right to demonstrate our commitment to the Austin community,” said Milton Howard, Duke Energy Renewables vice president and lead developer for the Los Vientos II Windpower Project, which will be complete by late 2012.

About Incenergy
Incenergy is known for innovations in reducing energy usage and detection of marginal HVAC performance, leading to higher sustainability and asset performance. Its advanced cloud based energy management system is designed specifically for commercial buildings, with a wireless platform making their EMS ideal for existing building retrofits. The product, Incenergy Building Portfolio EMS, leverages wirelessly communicating Smart Thermostats to deliver deep and rich control through a web interface or mobile devices. The EMS system is a managed service, but there are no service contracts to negotiate- you can keep your existing HVAC service provider. Because there is no software to install and there are no wires to run, Incenergy’s EMS can begin realizing energy savings for half the installation costs of comparable systems. Energy savings of 20-30% are typical, bringing a one to two-year payback window. Financing options are available.
