Business activity monitoring provides real-time visibility into the processes, transactions and workflows that are exposed as services within a service-oriented architecture.
Palo Alto, CA (PRWEB) January 24, 2012
Business activity monitoring (BAM) provides real-time visibility into the processes, transactions and workflows that are exposed as services within a service-oriented architecture (SOA). In February, WSO2 will present two technical webinars that provide an advance look at WSO2 Business Activity Monitor 2.0—currently in alpha release—and explore how IT professionals and business analysts can take advantage of significant new features and enhancements in WSO2 BAM 2.0 to track relevant Web services and key performance indicators (KPIs). Both webinars are available to participants at no cost.
February 2: WSO2 Business Activity Monitor (BAM) 2.0 – A New Beginning
Increasingly, enterprises rely on BAM to gain insights into business activity within the organization through the capture of messages and statistics from different server deployments. This webinar will discuss how WSO2 BAM 2.0 has been re-architected to address the real-world requirements for monitoring business activity within an SOA, most notably customization and the ability to scale while maintaining high performance and minimizing the demand on servers. The session also will review new functionality in WSO2 BAM 2.0, including NoSQL data storage, accelerated data transfer rates, configuration-based analytics, and what-you-see-is-what-you-get (WYSIWIG) user interface (UI) development tools.
The one-hour technical webinar is being held twice on Thursday, February 2: 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. PST for the Americas and 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. GMT for Europe and Asia-Pacific. It will be presented by Tharindu Mathew, a WSO2 senior software engineer and product manager on the WSO2 BAM team, who has contributed to numerous Apache Software Foundation (ASF) projects, including Cassandra, Hadoop and Thrift, among others. February 9: KPI Definition with BAM 2.0
Defining and monitoring KPIs allows businesses to place a value on activities that are normally difficult to measure, enabling groups within an organization to track the progress toward various goals. However, these groups’ diverse requirements can result in countless hours spent on customization. This session will review two use cases—a retail store and system operations—to demonstrate how the analytics framework and WYSIWYG UI generation tools in WSO2 BAM 2.0 can be customized easily to streamline the time required to define KPIs. It also will examine the role of WSO2 BAM 2.0 as an effective monitoring framework for KPIs.
