StrongMail, a leading provider of interactive marketing solutions for email marketing and social media, today announced that it was one of six companies selected out of a pool of 48 that were invited by Forrester Research, Inc., to participate in "The Forrester Wave™: Email Marketing Vendors, Q1 2012" (January 2012).

Identified by Forrester as "the single most inquired about firm" in 2011, StrongMail was the only vendor with both a hosted and installed solution that was asked to participate and earned perfect scores for customer retention, campaign performance testing and scalability. The six email marketing vendors invited to participate in the 2012 were selected as the "six most significant providers in the category," representing a more competitive evaluation and substantial narrowing of scope from the 15 vendors included in the 2009 Forrester Wave. The 2012 Forrester report also welcomed StrongMail as the first and only provider offering an installed solution, validating this option for enterprises needing high levels of security, integration, scalability and performance.

In its debut appearance, StrongMail ascended to a ranking of "Contender." The report states, "We like StrongMail’s scalability and automated campaign testing. And clients do too; it has the best client retention rates we reviewed."

THE FORRESTER WAVE METHODOLOGY
Forrester conducts primary research to develop a list of vendors that meet its criteria to be evaluated in this market. From that initial pool of vendors, Forrester then narrows its final list based on 37 criteria in three areas: current offering, strategy and market presence. Vendors are then chosen based on: 1) product fit; 2) customer success; and 3) Forrester client demand. Vendors that have limited customer references and products that don’t fit the scope of its evaluation are eliminated from the report.
