There have been many news stories detailing the bond between dogs and humans, and tales of dog heroics enter the public consciousness; capture one’s imagination, and fuel assertions that a dog’s loyalty is unwavering. Readers will find about that in the heroic story of a beautiful Golden Retriever, which was rescued and adopted by a tugboat owner named Captain Ollie in the book titled The Adventures of Tugboat and Captain Ollie written by V.J. R.
Captain Ollie who owns a tugboat adopted a lovable Golden Retriever puppy. He falls in love instantly the moment he saw the puppy and takes him home. He named his puppy Tugboat after hearing the whistle sound on a tugboat while having breakfast. It was a perfect sea worthy name. Tugboat grows up to become a smart and fearless Golden Retriever. Little did Captain Ollie know, Tugboat will emerge a hero after the dog helped him rescue a family of boaters hanging on for dear life after their small boat is being thrown around by waves and slowly being capsized by a violent storm.
The story of Captain Ollie and his adopted dog Tugboat brings valuable lessons to young readers on taking good care of domesticated animals like dogs. It reminds them the need to open their hearts and rescue an abandoned animal at all cost for they will never know how much love and affection animals, especially dogs and cats can give.
Furthermore, the story also proves to all that dogs are indeed man’s best friend and loyal companion. All they ever want is someone to love them just as we do. They have the ability to feel deep affection and project unfailing good will. Their constancy is a comforting presence as man maneuvers through the obstacle course of modern life. No mere animals, dogs are trustworthy companions that deserve much praise and pampering too.
