Super Bowl viewers will be ditching their paper "Squares" betting sheets this year in favor of the Football Squares Plus iPad App.
(PRWEB) January 25, 2012
Advertisers hope viewers glue their eyes to their TVs during the Super Bowl, but, many partiers this year will be focusing on a nearby iPad instead. Football Squares Plus, an application for Apple's iPad, replaces the traditional paper-based Squares betting game with a touch-friendly, all-digital alternative. Now, scoring changes and commercial breaks will have many partiers turning to a nearby iPad to see if they are poised to become winners.
During the days before the Super Bowl, and also during pre-game activities, participants will be passing around iPads to select their squares and in a new, modern, twist add pictures of themselves to each of those squares with an optional purchase. Football Squares Plus on the iPad handles all the touch-based duties of configuring a betting sheet, selecting squares, filtering on names and highlighting the winning digit combinations.
Copies of completed sheets may be distributed via a built-in email generator. Sheets may be configured in a number of ways, including the traditional 10 X 10 grid with scores for each quarter, half, or just the final score. Advanced options include 5 X 5 grids, entire playoff match-ups instead of the standard two-team sheet, and custom options for users seeking alternate styles.
The purchasing of squares can be enhanced with a field for the sheet maker to describe the cost of entry, as well as the prize structure. Sheet makers can password-protect the sheet to prevent unwanted changes from participants.
Users can save and retain all their sheets, and email the data file to other Football Squares Plus owners.
Football Squares Plus is $2.99 (USD) in the iTunes App Store.
The Picture Squares Add-On is $0.99 (USD) and available from within the app.
