Overwhelming national and international attention received over the weekend during Revolution PAC’s first primary election webcast is prompting the super committee, backer of U.S. Rep. Ron Paul’s bid for the Republican nomination, to provide similar coverage for upcoming contests.
An independent report issued by StreamHoster reveals that 20,378 unique IP addresses connected to Revolution PAC’s initial South Carolina Primary broadcast on January 21 as well as the rebroadcast on January 22. Although more than 85% of viewership was U.S. derived, report statistics show that the broadcast attracted the interest of people in at least 14 other countries.
“Just as Ron Paul is making gains by bucking the political status quo,” explains Revolution PAC Chair Gary Franchi, “Revolution PAC is facing mainstream media dissatisfaction head on and offering a potent alternative for live election results.”
Real-time election analysis was provided during the event via Skype by Revolution PAC’s South Carolina correspondents, investor and 2010 U.S. Senate candidate Peter Schiff, and economist and New York Times bestselling author Tom Woods. An in-studio panel fielded viewers’ Twitter and chat room queries.
“As we speak,” Franchi continued, “RevPAC is preparing to live webcast the upcoming Florida Primary results, with possible simulcast into targeted Florida cable markets. It’s an exciting and groundbreaking prospect.”
The Sunshine State’s Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, January 31.
Revolution PAC’s first-of-its-kind webcast followed the super committee’s January 20 call for a nationwide boycott of cable/network outlets, which have exhibited consistent reporting bias against Rep. Paul.
