Applied Systems today announced the appointment of software industry veterans David H. Whitley and Kristin L. Hackney to the insurance software company’s management team.
Whitley, new senior vice president of Development, heads the company’s development and quality assurance teams, announced Reid French, Applied Systems CEO. Hackney, new senior vice president of Services, is responsible for the company’s enterprise, implementation, education and technical services teams, French said. Whitley and Hackney report to COO Mark Layden.
“Our company’s success, including the burgeoning adoption of Epic, allows us to expand our executive team to guide future growth,” French said as he announced the appointments. “I am confident that with their considerable expertise, David and Kris will make important contributions to the future of Applied Systems.”
Whitley comes to Applied Systems with 20 years’ experience in software product development. Most recently, he was vice president of Product Development at Intergraph Corporation, a global provider of spatial information management software. Whitley was responsible for Intergraph’s Security, Government and Infrastructure division, managing software development in North America, Europe, China and India. Before Intergraph, Whitley was vice president of engineering at Solution 6 Holdings, Australia’s largest software company.
Hackney has more than 17 years’ experience in software services and development. She served most recently as vice president of Worldwide Enterprise Solutions and Services at Chicago-based SPSS Inc., a global provider of predictive analytics software and solutions. At SPSS, an IBM company, Hackney led global teams as she developed the company’s predictive analytics solutions business. In previous roles at SPSS, Hackney was vice president of Worldwide Education Services and vice president of Research & Development.
