Sterling, VA (PRWEB) January 25, 2012
The Washington DC Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMIWDC) which serves the networking and education needs of Washington DC metropolitan area residents has elected Unanet’s Jonathan Reynolds to their Board of Directors.
Jonathan was nominated as the Assistant Vice President of Outreach to the PMIWDC Board in September of 2011. His primary effort has been leading the Collaboration Initiative with Society for Science & the Public (SSP). The program provides mentorship in Project Management skills, such as risk management, project scheduling, stakeholder communication, and metrics collection, to High School science teachers who are managing projects for competitive grants.
Since 2008, the SSP Fellows program has helped guide students to competitive participation in local, state and regional science fairs, and national competitions, such as SSP’s Intel Science & Engineering Fair and the Intel Science Talent Search. PMIWDC’s mentoring program is planned to expand to other PMI chapters nationwide and is in need of mentor volunteers with Project Management experience.
Jonathan notes, “Mentoring high school teachers has been a worthwhile venture. The teachers are receptive and quick to learn and utilize Project Management tools in their everyday work. I believe that the classroom is a natural environment for project management skills, and a growth area for the profession.”
Since joining Unanet in June 2010, Jonathan has effectively led and implemented multiple enterprise-level projects from conception to success for Unanet clients. Unanet project components include time tracking, expense reporting and management, resource management and scheduling, Earned Value Management, project costing, and integration with a variety of accounting, human resource and ERP systems.
