Wakefern Food Corp. announced today that it has been chosen by New York City-based Food Bazaar Supermarkets to fulfill its dairy, frozen food, grocery, health and beauty, non-foods and specialty grocery product needs for its 16 locations throughout New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Additionally, Food Bazaar has been approved to carry the ShopRite private label line of products, including its Specialty Imported items, in all of its stores.

“We welcome Food Bazaar as the newest addition to our wholesale customer base,” stated Jim Tracy, vice president of Wholesale for Wakefern Food Corp. “We look forward to bringing our years of experience working with family-owned businesses to Food Bazaar and to expanding this relationship to include all of our perishable products, as well.”

For more than 60 years, Wakefern has delivered uncompromising wholesale services to independent retailers in the Northeast. Today, Wakefern serves its domestic and international wholesale customers with a broad product offering, private label brand development expertise, a first-class warehousing and distribution network, exceptional procurement power and a comprehensive knowledge of the retail environment.

"We are confident that with this new partnership with Wakefern, Food Bazaar will be better positioned to offer an enhanced shopping experience for our customers," said Spencer An, senior vice president of Bogopa Service Corp, operator of Food Bazaar Supermarkets. "We can now focus our attention and resources on our future growth plans as well as expanding into new locations. More importantly, this agreement means that our customers will be able to benefit from the wide assortment of products and services offered by Wakefern, and expect to see the same great prices for products that they are accustomed to seeing at Food Bazaar."
