New York, NY (PRWEB) January 26, 2012
Visitors to the New Year’s Eve Celebration in Times Square could see their Twitter updates, Instagram photos, and Foursquare checkins displayed on a 40-by-22 foot screen powered by FeedMagnet.
The display filtered social content that mentioned New Year’s, Times Square, or the sponsor’s brand, and removed anything inappropriate or irrelevant using FeedMagnet’s curation software.
“FeedMagnet is a great fit for this kind of display,” CEO and Founder Jason Ford said. “Large consumer brands with a lot of social mentions need the ability to filter and moderate to get the right content for re-display, and to block anything unwanted. FeedMagnet’s customizable front end allows the brand to visualize the material consistently with the rest of their campaign.”
In addition to providing entertainment and interaction for the crowds in the square, the screen supported marketing objectives by showing existing positive customer testimonials from the social channel.
FeedMagnet processed over 4,000 social interactions over a 12 hour period and brought them to life as quotes, photo montages, avatars, and statistics on the prominent MTV 44½ screen in the center of Times Square.
"The social visualizer was on screen for over 270 minutes over the course of the busiest day in Times Square as more than 1.1 million people attended the celebration," MTV 44½ Manager of digital out of home display Bridget Riley said. "It was the most dynamic user-generated, social-powered display that night."
"FeedMagnet's browser-based display was easy to implement and test,” Riley added. “The team was responsive and nimble, which is what high profile advertising clients need and expect."
