Rottenstein Law Group Applauds Obama’s State of the Union Call for “Smart Regulations” to Prevent Faulty Medical Devices from Harming American Public

The Rottenstein Law Group, which represents clients with claims stemming from the severe side effects of various prescription drugs and complications caused by dangerous medical devices, applauds and supports the call for better regulations made by President Obama in his State of the Union Address last night.

In his 2012 State of the Union Address to Congress, President Obama stated, “[We] need smart regulations to prevent irresponsible behavior. Rules to prevent financial fraud, or toxic dumping, or faulty medical devices, don’t destroy the free market. They make the free market work better.”

In the past several years, an unfortunate number of drugs and medical devices have caused incalculable harm to consumers. The Rottenstein Law Group represents clients hurt by, among other things: DePuy Orthopaedics’s recalled hip replacement devices; vaginal mesh products produced by various manufacturers; and so-called “pain pumps” that destroy cartilage.

Rochelle Rottenstein, principal of the Rottenstein Law Group, remarks, “It’s only common sense that better rules and approval procedures for drugs and medical devices will lead to a safer, and more productive, American people. The ‘smart regulation’ called for by the President is something we should all be calling for.”

The Rottenstein Law Group maintains a Web site to provide comprehensive information to the public about specific dangerous drugs and defective medical products. Those who wish to learn about particular harmful medications or faulty devices will be able to find all relevant information at the site, which is updated regularly as new information becomes available. The Web site URL is http://www.rotlaw.com.
