Master data management solution for ICD-10 transition recognized as Offering of the Year

HighPoint Solutions (HighPoint), a premier provider of specialized management and technology services dedicated to the life sciences and healthcare industries, announced today that its ICD-10 Appliance was awarded Offering of the Year at the Informatica Worldwide Sales Kickoff 2012, held January 15-18 in Orlando. This award recognizes partners that develop repeatable solutions built on Informatica platforms.

The ICD-10 Appliance is a master data management solution that helps healthcare payers and providers implement and comply with ICD-10. It is deployed on top of the Informatica Master Data Management (MDM) Hub, a single platform approach to multi-domain MDM and an ideal platform for creating a single version of the truth for ICD-9/ICD-10 codes, mappings, translations, and business rules that can be utilized by all applications.

The ICD-10 Appliance delivers several key benefits. It enables selective remediation without sacrificing compliance or analytic excellence and applies business rules uniformly across all processes and applications. The Appliance facilitates consistency in approach and rules when major commercial off-the-shelf applications are sourced from multiple vendors and integrated with internally-developed applications and data warehouses. While the Appliance supports standard mappings (GEMS, Reimbursement, etc.), it also permits overrides or extensions based on customer, business process, or function. Finally, it can be easily updated with future changes in mappings or additional value-added mappings.

The HighPoint ICD-10 Appliance eases the transition to ICD-10 compliance and facilitates gaining benefit from ICD-10 via improved analytics. It is currently being used by multiple large Blues plans and other payers/providers to prepare for the ICD-10 transition.
