The BBC reported on the accident which occured on January 13th, when the lady aged 83 crashed into a number 44 bus in her small Nissan. This resulted in the woman being rushed to hospital with serious injuries, and will almost certainly mean prolonged recovery.

The recovery time needed after such a crash is uncertain, but what can be said is that this woman is now in sudden need of a stairlift. The recession has clamped down on all of our finances, but the elderly are the worst affected. So even if someone is in dire need of aid they could be denied it. Even families with older relatives may just not have the ability to get a stairlift, or the money for a one in order to help.

It is for these reasons that we need to pull ourselves out of this recession before it makes life utterly unbearable.
