Moguldom Media Group, the leading digital media company that develops premium online publishing brands serving African-American audiences, today announced the launch of iPad-optimized versions of its portfolio of leading digital destinations serving African-American audiences. Developed by the company’s Moguldom Mobile division, the iPad-native websites and apps will provide rich, immersive mobile experiences on Apple’s wildly popular tablet. Moguldom’s advertising clients will gain a powerful new channel for reaching highly engaged mobile audiences, including new custom creative and mobile video units currently in development. Moguldom also announced the launch of a new corporate website to reflect the full depth of its latest offerings for video, mobile, and social media, as well as to showcase the company's innovative advertising solutions.

Moguldom’s innovative digital media strategy, which encompasses new initiatives across video, social, and mobile, has driven rapid growth for its properties tailored to culture, news and commentary, women, fashion, and entertainment for the African American community. Over the past year, the company’s revenue has doubled, while its mobile revenue has risen 1600 percent. Moguldom's growing team now includes 32 full-time employees and 51 independent contractors who work from the company's New York headquarters and offices in Atlanta and Los Angeles. The new website at now reflects the full depth and breadth of the company’s digital media portfolio and the solutions available to its advertisers.

The launch of Moguldom’s iPad editions builds on the company’s already-strong growth on the device. Over the past six months, Moguldom Mobile’s iPad traffic has increased over 200 percent, generating well over 11 million monthly pageviews across its portfolio. Moguldom moved to capture new opportunities on leading smartphone platforms earlier in 2011 with the introduction of iPhone and Android apps for its full line of digital properties; now, the company will strengthen its position on the industry’s dominant tablet.

Unrivaled in popularity, the iPad commands 97.2 percent of all tablet traffic in the U.S. (comScore). More than simply diverting traffic from other platforms, the iPad has actually been shown to increase the time consumers spend online—a recent study by Pew Research Center's Project for Excellence in Journalism in collaboration with The Economist Group found that three in ten tablet news users say they now spend more time getting news than they did before acquiring the device. Combining mobile convenience with the richness of a larger display, the iPad has also proven uniquely effective as an advertising channel. Nielsen research suggests that iPad owners are more receptive to ads than other mobile device owners, particularly when the ads contain video and other interactive features. In this light, it’s not surprising that ad requests on the iPad are growing much faster than other iOS-related requests.
