SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (PRWEB) January 27, 2012
Buggy Shady, a fashionable and universal shade for both strollers and infant car seats, was awarded The Parent Tested, Parent Approved (PTPA) Seal of Approval this week. The highly-competitive PTPA seal is the most nationally recognized and sought after award for children’s products.
“We are thrilled to have the Buggy Shady be recognized as an excellent baby product by real parents through the Parents Tested, Parents Approved,” said Tiffany Christianson, co-founder of Buggy Shady. “This is a big step for the Buggy Shady especially as we are in the midst of launching a major growth plan.”
The PTPA Seal of Approval celebrates product excellence and is awarded by an unbiased and trustworthy audience: parents. Over 40,000 volunteer parents all over the United States test the products in their own homes using their parental instincts and consumer experience to rate the product’s merit, functionality and quality.
Invented by two entrepreneurial Arizona moms, Tiffany Christianson and Holly Foster, the Buggy Shady presented a real solution to an everyday dilemma. It is the first true universal shade that fits snugly on nearly every major brand of strollers and infant car seats and easily lifts up and stores on the stroller canopy while remaining attached to be used quickly and easily when needed again. Not only does the product keep baby shaded from the sun and cooler in hot weather, but it also provides “hands-off” privacy for newborns in infant car seats, making it easy to keep people from touching or disturbing a sleeping child.
Made of breathable, transparent mesh that blocks 75 percent of UVA and UVB rays, the Buggy Shady shields baby from wind, rain, bugs and other elements. It also features a lightweight, designer print fabric layer that drops down and completely covers the mesh layer when baby needs to sleep. The Buggy Shady keeps mom cute with eight trendy and reversible fabric options, including organic fabrics.
“When my first child was a newborn, I was desperate for something that would keep him shaded with something that would fit snugly on my stroller and car seat,” said Christianson. “I was always throwing a blanket over the stroller and every few steps it would slide down or fall in on to my baby. Every product that I found and tried didn’t solve the problem – and every product was unattractive.”
To solve the dilemma, Christianson and co-founder Foster decided to make their own. It took several test versions before the women got the formula right. The development process took a full two years.
The Buggy Shady is sold online at http://www.buggyshady.com for $39.99.
