Hawaiian Airlines Field will have a new look for the NFL Pro Bowl Game due to the exclusive Removable Active Panel system developed by UBU Sports. The 110,000 sq. ft. Speed S5-M synthetic turf system features 22 Removable Active Panels in 7 locations within the field of play. The UBU Sports synthetic turf system in Aloha Stadium provides multiple logo configurations for the University of Hawaii, NCAA Hawaii Bowl and NFL Pro Bowl.

“The Blue Hand Spooler is the only apparatus that will install and remove a 2.5 inch, sand and rubber infill, synthetic turf system” noted Mark Hill, Director of Quality Assurance for UBU Sports. “Due to the frequency of rainfall in Honolulu, our RAP system allows the grounds crew to custom paint the green synthetic turf panels off the field for the Pro Bowl which really helps the crew out tremendously”.

The UBU Sports Speed S5-M turf system in Aloha Stadium meets the stringent testing standards for the NFL. Each Removable Active Panel weighs 3 tons and covers 13,365 sq ft of the playing surface of Hawaiian Airlines Field. The Speed S5-M synthetic turf system, featuring UBU Sports’ exclusive Harmony fiber, is also the field of choice for the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and Metrodome.

Since its inception in 2009, UBU Sports has been an innovator in the synthetic turf industry with installations ranging from peewee to professional leagues. UBU Sports is ground gear for athletes, incorporating science and technology into each surface they provide. The field is an extension of the athlete and UBU Sports provides a surface that helps athletes be the best they can be.
