Honduran National Congress signs educational co-operation agreement with agricultural university, Zamorano.

Zamorano teaches the responsible management of natural resources, rural development and global competitiveness.

Leading agricultural university, Zamorano, has signed an educational cooperation agreement with the Honduran National Congress. Under the agreement, thirty partial scholarships will be awarded to students seeking a vocation in agriculture.

Partial scholarships of between US$4,000 and US$6,000 per year will be given to young Hondurans who meet rigorous requirements established by the Zamorano Admissions Office. Zamorano will present a short-list of candidates to the National Congress and both bodies will announce the successful candidates.

Scholarship holders will have an opportunity to choose between four undergraduate degrees at Zamorano including Agricultural Engineering, Agribusiness Management, Food Agroindustry, Agronomy, and Socioeconomic Development and Environment.

The president of the National Congress, Mr. Juan Orlando Hernández, said the agreement will change the lives of thirty young Hondurans. The Ministry of Agriculture and Zamorano University have carried out several joint projects. The Ministry currently provides scholarships to 160 Honduran students.
