Rcopia-MU is a low-cost ONC-ATCB certified modular EHR option that's ideal for physicians who aren't ready to make the commitment to an electronic medical record (EMR) or who want to start with basic technology while still meeting the requirements

Recently released Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) data relating to the number of attestations for Meaningful Use (MU) shows more eligible professionals (EP) chose DrFirst’s Rcopia- MU to successfully attest for Meaningful Use incentives than any other modular EHR. Rcopia-MU was used to attest for Meaningful Use twice as often as other certified modular solutions. To date almost 23,000 providers have successfully attested for Meaningful Use incentives. According to the data, there are a total of 385 modularly-certified solutions listed on the Office of the National Coordinator for healthcare IT (ONC) web site.

“Rcopia-MU is a low-cost ONC-ATCB certified modular EHR option that's ideal for physicians who aren't ready to make the commitment to an electronic medical record(EMR) or who want to start with basic technology while still meeting the Stage 1 MU requirements,” said G. Cameron Deemer, president of DrFirst. “With AttestEasy™, DrFirst also assists physician practices through the attestation process to flag any potential user errors and Meaningful Use measures that are near or below the threshold and provides guidance prior and up to the actual day of attestation.”

CMS updated published data on Meaningful Use attestation as of November 2011. This data set provides insight into which states, provider type, provider specialty, and practice setting have attested for Meaningful Use. One key identifier which CMS produced was whether the provider attested with a “complete” EHR, or a “modular” EHR. Providers have the option to choose to use multiple Modular EHR systems, choosing a best-of-breed approach, as opposed to choosing a complete EHR in which one EHR vendor provides all services.
