UK Communications Professionals Join Forces to Launch New Telephone Answering Service

A network of UK telecommunications specialists providing personal PA services have joined together to launch Great Connexions Ltd – and are aiming to give the larger call centres a run for their money.

With many companies downsizing staff numbers, business has been brisk for the nine telephone answering service companies, who were previously part of a national franchise, but decided that ‘local is best’ as Great Connexions Managing Director Derrick Pettit explains:
‘We’re all very experienced and successful specialists in our own right and share a common ethos in the way we work and the levels of service we provide,’ says Derrick. ‘Founding Great Connexions has involved a great deal of planning but we’re happy to say that wherever you are in the UK there will now be a Great Connexions office local to you.’
The new company allows the members to offer independent services to SMEs, as well as a more personal level of service to UK-wide corporations and business is thriving reports Derrick.
‘We have seen a significant increase in business from small companies who can’t afford to lose calls but don’t have the resources to have office cover all the time, as well as larger businesses who want to take advantage of our additional services like telemarketing and 24-7 call cover. Time and time again our clients are surprised at just how many calls they were missing and how much that equates to in lost revenue.’
Through their partnership, the Great Connexions group expect to see a sharp increase in business and are already recruiting more staff to cope with demand. ‘Businesses of all sizes are realising that they simply can’t afford to miss calls in the current economic climate, but they’re put off outsourcing because they don’t want their clients diverted to a call centre God knows where.’ says Derrick. ‘As the only national provider of telephone answering services to designate highly experienced, named PAs to every client and have smaller, local offices we’re already ahead of the market just on the quality of service we are able to provide.’
