(ISC)² and ASIS International team up once again to offer the largest security event of its kind in the world

(ISC)²® (“ISC-squared”), the world’s largest information security professional body and administrators of the CISSP®, today announced the opening of registration for its second annual Security Congress, to be held September 10th –13th in Philadelphia at the Philadelphia Convention Center. The (ISC)2 Security Congress is open to information security professionals from around the globe, giving them the opportunity to gather to learn, exchange ideas, network, and pursue certifications and other career development.

The conference will be colocated once again with the ASIS International 2012 58th Annual Seminar and Exhibits (ASIS 2012) and will provide the knowledge and education to keep attendees abreast of new technology and the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues. The two events will be held at the same time and facility, providing attendees with professional development opportunities that span both the traditional and information security landscapes. The two colocated events will bring together over 20,000 security professionals from multiple disciplines, making it the largest security event of its kind in the world. Key conference tracks include: Compliance, Regulation & Governance; Threats - Inside and Out; Cloud Security; Swiss Army Knife - Tips, Tools and Techniques for the Well Rounded Infosecurity Professional; Application Security; Mobile Security/Social Networking; Software Assurance; Malware; and Government Security Program. Those interested in speaking at Congress on one of these timely topics should submit a proposal for consideration by February 27th, 2012. More information and a submission form can be found at

The program will also include a two-day intensive education seminar for (ISC)²’s Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP®) certifications and two-day education programs for Cloud Security and Forensics. (ISC)2 will also be providing free, half-day credential clinics suited to current skills and career paths for those considering becoming (ISC)²-certified. Attendees will be given the opportunity to connect face-to-face with peers from diverse backgrounds and interests, sharing experiences and exchanging ideas at the daily networking luncheons.

(ISC)² members will have opportunities to attend exclusive member events, including a networking reception and Town Hall Meeting. Those interested in becoming a volunteer for (ISC)²’s Safe and Secure Online program will also have the opportunity to participate in an interactive volunteer orientation session on Wednesday.

“The current threat landscape demands the collaboration of professional support organizations like ASIS and (ISC)²,” said W. Hord Tipton, CISSP-ISSEP, CAP, CISA, executive director of (ISC)². “Cyber criminals don’t recognize the divisions between various areas of security when they attack. It is essential that we acknowledge that these lines are blurred and provide professionals with access to bleeding edge knowledge in order to protect our customers and ourselves. It is our goal through Congress to arm attendees at all levels with the tools they need across a breadth of security disciplines.”

The (ISC)² Security Congress program is available online, offering attendees an opportunity to personalize their event experience. (ISC)² members are eligible for special discounted pricing, and pre-registered attendees may walk the exhibit floor. More details are available at
