Shriners Hospitals for Children® — Los Angeles is pleased to announce the appointment of Kit M. Song, M.D., as chief of staff. Recognized in Best Doctors in America from 2001 – 2011, and in Who’s Who in Medicine in 2002 – 2011, Dr. Song brings more than 20 years of pediatric orthopaedic expertise to this position.
Previously, Dr. Song was assistant director of pediatric orthopaedics at Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center of Seattle and an associate professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Washington.
“Dr. Song is a renowned pediatric orthopaedic surgeon and lecturer who frequently travels around the world to speak to medical professionals,” said Michael Rodgers, Chairman of the Board of Governors of Shriners Hospitals for Children — Los Angeles. “We are so pleased to have found the best leader for the job.”
An alumnus of University of Iowa Medical School, Dr. Song completed his fellowship at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children and his residency at the University of Washington. He also holds a Masters of Healthcare Administration from the University of Washington. Dr. Song’s clinical and surgical subspecialty areas include early onset scoliosis, arthrogryposis, and musculoskeletal problems in children with neuromuscular disabilities.
Dr. Song’s vision for Shriners Hospitals for Children — Los Angeles includes a system that is patient centered, a care model dedicated to the continuum of services in pediatric orthopedics, spine rehabilitative medicine, burn reconstruction, orthotics/prosthetics, and cleft lip and palate. His vision for the Los Angeles hospital also includes developing a highly visible presence in the Southwestern United States and Northwestern Mexico.

He resides in Southern California with his wife and enjoys the ethnic and cultural diversity Southern California provides.
