MEA has been in the claim attachment business for more than 15 years, so they were the best candidate to provide esMD connectivity for ABILITY clients,” said Buck Rogers, EVP of Business Development.
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) January 31, 2012
Medical Electronic Attachment (MEA), The Recognized Leader in Secure Exchange of Health Information and ABILITY Network Inc™, the nation’s largest and most secure web-based health network, today announced that ABILITY has selected MEA as their preferred Health Information Handler (HIH) for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Electronic Submission of Medical Documentation (esMD) program. esMD was developed to enable providers to electronically submit medical documentation in response to a CMS audit request.
Providers will use MEA’s FastAttach™ solution for the secure electronic capture and submission of medical documentation to requesting CMS review contractors for RAC (Recovery Audit Contractors), MAC (Medicare Administrative Contractors), and CERT (Comprehensive Error Rate Testing) audits, eliminating the need to fax and mail requested documentation. ABILITY clients will experience timely responses to meet CMS deadlines and a reduction in administrative time and cost normally spent with manual audit processes. MEA developed a National Health Information Network (NHIN) standard CONNECT gateway to enable the secure transmission of these medical documents.
“During our partner selection process we look for organizations that can provide the most value to our clients. We wanted a partner with experience in the secure exchange of medical documentation. MEA has been in the claim attachment business for more than 15 years, so they were the best candidate to provide esMD connectivity for ABILITY clients,” said Buck Rogers, EVP of Business Development.
"We are pleased about the opportunity to work with ABILITY, by offering their providers a secure and cost-effective means to respond to Medicare audits. Leveraging our CONNECT technology with their robust provider market penetration is the perfect synergy,” said Lindy Benton, CEO of MEA.
