As a writer, I love the boundaries of stories - limited characters, action and time. The structure makes me focus on a single idea, using every precious word to help express it. Any word suspected of not supporting the main idea gets cut.

WriteLife, LLC, a unique and collaborative publishing company for fiction and non-fiction authors, has published a collection of short stories which portrays engaging slices-of-life.
Hurricane Blues, by author Marcia Calhoun Forecki, is now available at http://www.writelife.com and major online retailers such as Target, Barnes & Noble and Amazon.
Forecki remarked, “As a writer, I love the boundaries of stories - limited characters, action and time. The structure makes me focus on a single idea, using every precious word to help express it. Any word suspected of not supporting the main idea gets cut. A storyteller says what she has to say and sits down. We all know people who would benefit from using the story structure in their communication, written and oral.”
One reviewer said, “The author has a talent for painting a picture with words. I loved her used of language. Although the stories were about different characters ranging from female to male, and from young to old, the author has a wonderful ability to make each character real.”
Marcia Calhoun Forecki lives and writes in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Her first book, Speak To Me, from Gallaudet University Press, won a book award from the President's Committee on Employment of the Handicapped in 1986. She published Better Than Magic, a novel for middle grade readers, in 2000.
