To enter participants simply submitted an artistic expression inspired by water and colors. These creations included photos of rain barrels, painted water bottles or watering cans. Anything that captured the spirit of Water Colors, including photos of a creative way a particular garden was planted, drawings of rivers, poems or stories about water. Frank Wood, executive sponsor of Plow & Hearth’s sustainability committee says, “It’s the perfect opportunity to be creative, express yourself and support a great organization” by raising awareness.
This year’s Water Colors contest has closed to further entries as of September 30, 2012 and Plow & Hearth received some amazing submissions this time around. Contestants shared wonderful images of their beautiful, water-inspired creations, all of which captured the spirit of Water Colors. Choosing the finalists was a challenge for the special committee, but in the end, three masterpieces were chosen that showed superior aesthetic impact, incorporation of color and water and originality.
The top three submissions have been placed on Plow & Hearth’s Facebook page so that fans may vote for the overall winner. The voting ends at 8 AM on 10/19. The top artist will receive:
