I am honored to be selected. My team tries really hard to do right by the patient. I think that this recognition is proof that we're doing the right thing.
Beverly Hills, CA (PRWEB) October 15, 2012
La Peer Health Systems is honored to announce that one of its orthopaedic surgeons, Dr. Sonu Ahluwalia, was named a “Top Doctor” by U.S. News & World Report.
"I am honored to be selected," Dr. Ahluwalia said. "My team tries really hard to do right by the patient. I think that this recognition is proof that we're doing the right thing."
Through a joint collaboration with Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., U.S. News & World Report compiled a list of the nation’s top doctors. Top Doctors are nominated by their peers and then approved by a research team that is led by physicians. Top doctors are classified several ways: the region in which they practice, their hospital affiliation, and their medical specialties and subspecialties.
The goal of this prestigious list is not to merely provide accolade and acclaim to doctors. Instead, it hopes to provide patients with exceptional doctors that can best address their needs as well as give physicians a go-to list of specialty doctors who are worthy of patient referrals.
Sonu Ahluwalia, MD is a Beverly Hills orthopaedic surgeon at La Peer Health Systems as well as the Clinical Chief for the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. He also has hospital privileges at Olympia Medical Center and other ambulatory surgery centers.
Dr. Ahluwalia is board certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and is a fellow of the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is a specialist in acute orthopaedic trauma such as fractures, injuries from falls, accidents, and more. Dr. Ahluwalia was also trained in various arthroscopic shoulder surgery techniques as well as in arthroscopic knee and hip procedures.
Dr. Ahluwalia was born in New Delhi and attended Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College in India before receiving orthopedic training at Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program in Boston, one of the most sought after training programs in orthopaedic surgery. He has completed three fellowships, two at Harvard Medical School and one at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, on shoulder surgery, sports medicine, and joint replacement and joint preservation surgery.
