Dallas, TX (PRWEB) October 10, 2012
With unemployment rates still high, and more than 12.1 million Americans out of work, job fairs all over the country are drawing record numbers. Thousands of hopeful job seekers sometimes stand in line for hours just to attend these events.
A new website, focused on careers in CDL truck driving, hopes to change all this with their first ever virtual job fair. Truckingvirtualjobfairs.com will be holding their first hiring event on October 17, 2012 between the hours of 10am to 2pm, CST.
When asked who is expected to attend this event, Gloria Martin, Manager of Digital Development for eMedia Group, states “This will be an event geared towards currently unemployed truckers, student truck drivers, or those truck drivers seeking a better job and, of course, employers looking to fill job openings for their truck driving positions.”
“With thousands of CDL driver jobs available, we are incredibly excited about our first trucking virtual job fair on October 17th.” Martin says.
Martin stresses that this site is not a job posting site. “It’s a unique interactive recruitment experience with interviews and job placements happening live. [truckingvirtualjobfairs.com is] new, fun and interactive for all levels of truck drivers. Employers can meet with participants without the time and cost of sending a representative to a live job fair.” The site is designed to work in the exact same way a regular job fair does, the difference being participants don’t have to travel to the event.
“The first job fair for truckingvirtualjobfairs.com will be held on October 17, 2012 from 10am – 2pm. Some of the biggest names in the trucking industry will be with us on our first event such as 3PD, Averitt, Davis Express, Empire Express, K&J Trucking, Stevens Transport, TMC, Werner and dozens more. Their representatives will be standing by, available to chat live with job seekers.” Martin reports.
When asked what makes this job fair so special, Martin replied, “The trucking industry is always looking for new ways to recruit candidates and we have answered the call with our new technology which has a real job fair feel, but is all online. I like to say ‘You can wear pajamas to this job fair.’”
The October 17th fair will be geared towards all levels of truck drivers and also welcomes employers and recruiters interested in staffing their own booth at the event. Employers interested in participating are encouraged to contact eMedia Group at sales(at)emediagroupllc(dot)com.
