“We are thrilled to bring the Affordable Art Fair to Seattle for the first time and showcase local talent from throughout the Pacific Northwest, as well as introduce local art buyers to current trends in art from around the world."

Appreciating and collecting art is meant to be enjoyed by everyone, not just limited to the savvy collector or the one percent. Buying art can be one of the most rewarding purchases one can and should make, if pointed in the right direction. To help enhance the art-buying experience, the Affordable Art Fair, known around the world for its fun, interactive, and inviting art-buying atmosphere, arrives for the first time in Seattle on November 8 – 11, 2012 at the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall.

The Affordable Art Fair aims to democratize the art market and the Seattle fair continues with this mission in mind. The Fair will feature hundreds of contemporary paintings, prints, sculptures and photographs available for purchase from $100 to $10,000, with at least half under $5,000. Young, emerging artists and local art stars will be exhibited next to international masters such as Damien Hirst and Anish Kapoor.

“We are thrilled to bring the Affordable Art Fair to Seattle for the first time and showcase local talent from throughout the Pacific Northwest, as well as introduce local art buyers to current trends in art from around the world. The 50 galleries and contemporary artists we have selected to participate are sure to offer an exciting mix of artwork, ensuring there is something for everyone, from the trendy fashionista to the tech-savvy”, says Jennifer Jacobs, Seattle Fair Director.

Along with the opportunity to browse and buy the art, guests are welcome to participate in a jam-packed schedule of workshops, lectures and guided tours. Kids can let their imaginations run wild in the Young Collectors Lounge or on a tour, hosted by, which teaches children how art ignites all five of the senses. Also, printmaking demonstrations with a variety of local artists will bring the artistic process to life. Sheila Coppola of Sidereal Fine Art Press will be giving intaglio printing demonstrations daily, printing small-etched plates by Fay Jones, Robert Jones, Claire Cowie and Jeffry Mitchell, among others.

While deciding between potential purchases, friends can linger over a bite and a glass of wine in the café. The buying process itself is straightforward: all prices are shown and there are no hidden commissions. Artwork can be courtesy wrapped and taken home right away to be the newest addition to your home or provide the perfect holiday gift for the art lover in your life.

Whether you are a young professional on the hunt for your first piece of art, a seasoned collector out to spot something new, a student seeking inspiration, or a family looking for a fun day out, the Affordable Art Fair has it all. And no matter what your artistic persuasion, you are sure to find art you can’t resist at Seattle’s Affordable Art Fair.
