Alex Karras was diagnosed with kidney failure. And according to montrealgazette.com, he was recently released from the hospital so he could spend his remaining days with his family. Knowing about it, GreenBeanBuddy commented that Karras should be commended whether as an actor or NFL player. Nonetheless, it added that people should also take this sad news about him as a warning to better their health.
It was said in the report that the now 77-year-old NFL Hall of Famer was released from a California hospital and was brought to his home in Los Angeles to be with his wife and kids. His lawyer for his lawsuit againts the NFL, Craig Mitnick, confirmed his condition.
Karras was one of the best defensive tackle during his football years. He played for Detroit Lions all throughout his NFL career and was a standout for 12 seasons. He retired from the league in 1970 at age 35.
Apart from being a defensive tackle, Karras is also known as an actor and a “Monday Night Football” announcer. Among the shows he was famous for are “Webster” where he played the father and “Blazing Saddles” as Mongo.
