Romney holds a 7 point lead over Obama in PRElection voting heading into Thursday's vice-presidential debate

Overall Results - Oct 10

As Paul Ryan and Joe Biden prepare for Thursday night's vice-presidential debate, PRElection voters have given Romney a seven point lead. Wednesday night's results show Romney 51, Obama 44. Voting was intense during last week's debate and slowed with time. Even heavier voting is expected during the vice-presidential debate as new voters download the free PRElection app and cast votes for the first time.

PRElection will be watching the effects of the debate on voters, to determine how many app users change their mind, and their vote. In addition to Thursday's debate, the new movie Atlas Shrugged Part II opens nationwide on Friday. While the current election cycle will likely push fans to the theaters, it will be interesting to see if the movie has any effect on voters and their candidate choices. PRElection will be looking closely at voting activity on opening night.

PRElection, featured in the App Store News section, is a free app that allows voters to predict the election by anonymously voting in the Presidential race, and the 33 Senate and 435 House races occurring this year. PRElection allows candidates to reach voters directly by updating their PREview Candidate and Donate links. They can also send "push" notifications to their supporters on devices literally in their voters hands, greatly enhancing the candidate/voter experience.

PRElection is not a poll, it is a continuous tally of all votes cast as of the current point in time. While voters can change their votes, for example during Thursday's vice-presidential debate in Danville, each voter has only one vote. The app allows each voter to see the current results of PRElection voting in terms of the overall count of House and Senate seats, as well as detailed results for each candidate in the Presidential race and each House and Senate election.

PRElection is able to report voting results for a variety of demographics across voters who choose to Get Verified, answering questions about party affiliation, age, education, ethnicity and other categories that are carried along with their anonymous vote. Since votes and vote changes are time stamped, PRElection results reflect the impact of debates, campaign appearances and other significant events.
