Killeen, TX (PRWEB) October 12, 2012
New Horizons Computer Learning Centers, the world’s largest independent IT training provider, will host a free, IT training event, SpecTECHular, at the Killeen Civic and Convention Center located at 3601 SW S. Young Drive in Killeen, Thursday, October 18, from 8:30-5:00. Highlighting new technology products and trends, this is the first time SpecTECHular has been held in Killen during its five-year history.
Rick Bauer, Director of R&D for CompTIA, will deliver the keynote for the Killeen event, discussing trends in IT and how organizations need to prepare for impending changes. Bauer will also deliver an open session where he will discuss updates to the DoD 8570 initiative. Additional sessions will cover new technology from Microsoft, including SharePoint Server, SQL Server, and Windows 8, as well as a variety of other topics around security, networking, business intelligence, and IT management. Attendees will be able to build their own learning path relevant to their specific needs and interests.
Show organizer, New Horizons, runs this annual event in over a dozen cities in the Central U.S. each year. “As a training provider, and partner to many technology vendors like Microsoft, CompTIA, and Cisco, we have insight into a broad range of information on new products and trends,” said New Horizons general manager, Allen Middleton. “We offer this event as a way for the IT community to get a balanced look at what is coming and hopefully provide some of the answers they need to plan for the future.”
In conjunction with SpecTECHular, New Horizons is also offering a Career Fair in the same venue. The Career Fair will feature exhibitors looking for new employees, including Dell, the State Comptroller, and Job Corp. Attendees can attend presentations covering topics around interviewing skills and using Linked In as a tool in the job search.
