Deadline Extended: DIRECT Email Account Grant Funding and Webinar

Time is running out for Pennsylvania Hospitals to take advantage of PA eHealth Cooperative grant funding. This is your opportunity to add a DIRECT email account to maintain security of patient information and comply with Stage 1 Meaningful Use Requirements.

Email requirements for patient information are changing. PA eHealth Collaborative has made it easy and more economical for hospitals to comply with the new regulations, with a Statewide grant for one free year of DIRECT messaging service from an approved health information service provider.

In order to satisfy some of your Stage 1 Meaningful Use requirements you will be able to use DIRECT email—similar to your present email, but protected by a HIPAA-accepted Secure Certificate process that will allow you to send PHI directly to another user. Only that user will receive the email and attachments and be able to open them.
